    LC 1 chairpersons are PDM beneficiaries, Kasese chair says

    Local council one chairpersons are beneficiaries of the Parish Development Model initiative, Mr. Eiphaz Muhindi, the Kasese district local council five chairperson has announced.

    Mr. Muhindi said after consultations with relevant government authorities, all local council one chairpersons are beneficiaries of the program that is aimed at improving household incomes against poverty levels among the locals. Mr. Muhindi speaking1…….

    Speaking to the PDM strategy executive committee for Kisaka parish at Mithimusanju trading center in Bwera sub-county on Tuesday, Mr. Muhindi later warned parish chiefs against soliciting bribes from the intending beneficiaries of Parish Development initiative in the district.

    He also called for the attention of the local community members and leaders to expose for arrest anybody suspected to have got involved in corruption practices during the application and cash distribution period under PDM.

    Mr. Muhindi said he was following up reports that civil servants attached to the strategy were soliciting ten thousand shillings from each beneficiaries allegedly for printing, data and computer hiring among others which are the expenses of the subcounty local governments.

    He later reechoed his reminder to the PDM beneficiaries that the money revolve among members and therefore, is for refund. END
