Isaaya Manday, the lay leader from All Saints Church in Walukuba cell in Jinja City Southern Division, who was attacked by machete-wielding men last month, is out of a coma, according to Reverend Cyprian Mugabi.
Manday emerged from a 10-day coma yesterday, which had previously hindered the completion of necessary surgical procedures.
He was attacked on June 29th inside All Saints Church while leading four Christians in preparing for the Sunday service scheduled for the following day.
It is alleged that unidentified machete-wielding youths surrounded the church, demanding Rev. Mugabi’s whereabouts.
When they could not find him, they attacked Manday, inflicting severe cuts on his neck and head.
The other four individuals managed to lock themselves in the toilets, escaping the assault.
Mugabi explained that Monday’s jaws were completely shattered, and his recent progress will allow for the necessary implants to aid in his recovery.
James Mubi, the Kiira Regional Police spokesperson, stated that police canines were reintroduced to the crime scene, assisting in the collection of crucial evidence. END.
