Residents of four villages in Kyamuhunga sub-county in Bushenyi district have petitioned the office of the Resident District Commissioner for compensation following an attack by stray dogs.
They said that they lost more than 100 domestic animals and birds when stray dogs invaded the villages of Katura, Mashong, Kibazi and Ryabaganju from the end of November to Mid-December.

The Bushenyi District Veterinary Officer, Dr. Roberts Natukunda says that they have monitored the dogs’ habits and observed that they are only draining and feeding on blood from the animals they attack and that poisoning and physical hunting are doe of the ways to be applied against the predators.
