The Rt. Rev. Michael Okwii Esakhan, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Kumi has directed schools established by the Church of Uganda to stop formal dance parties commonly known as proms.
He made the directive today as part of his sermon at the dedication ceremony for Senior Four and Senior Six candidates at Mukura Memorial SS in Ngora District.
Bishop Esakhan stated that these events must come to an end in all Church of Uganda schools, emphasizing that this aligns with national educational policy.
He urged the candidates preparing for their examinations to express qualities of perseverance, persistence, and dedication in pursuit of their goals.
The Prelate also highlighted the role of parents in nurturing a spirit of perseverance in their children, encouraging them to develop habits of prayer and hard work in all their endeavors for a fulfilling life.
