The former Minister of Defense, Hon. Dr. Crispus Walter Kiyonga called for a district Ordinance against laziness to address food insecurity and poverty challenges in Kasese district.
His proposal was in line with the recent statements by the Ordinary of the Diocese of Kasese, Rt. Rev. Francis Aquirinus Kibira and Ambassador of hard work, who said lazy people were like to miss heaven because they have nothing to contribute to God’s work.
Dr. Kiyonga also the Kasese district NRM party chairman who was addressing his greater Kyabarungira party leadership at Kirabaho Full Gospel church, wonders why an energetic men and women should wakeup with no plans for work but drinking and eating what they did not labor for.
He partly blamed the high cases of poverty, food insecurity and un educated community members in Kasese to poor planning and laziness by some family heads whom he said have questions to respond to before the Holy throne. Dr. Kyiyonga speaking1……….
He also asked the local community members to make good use of the subcounty agriculture extension officers whose guidance would improve crop and animals production.
Ms Pelucy Mweryabisando, the Kasese district female councilor representing Bwesumbu subcounty and Kabatunda-Kirabaho town council called for minimal expenditures during the Xmas festivals she said should not cause regrets as children return to school early February next year. Earlier while addressing the local NRM leaders in Kahokya subcounty, Dr. Kiyonga said his district wide tour was largely to heal wounds among the party membership caused during last year’s party primary and general elections. END
