A section of concerned local community members in Kirembe Ward in Kasese Municipality, has called for the interventions of the district water department to test the water quality of the emerging stream that the community was currently depending on for domestic use.
According to Mr. Robert Bitakuma, whereas the locals were drinking the water from a stream he claims is originating from the ground, the water cannot be perceived safe and clean until the necessary laboratory tests are done. Mr. Bitakuma speaking………

When contacted, the Kasese Assistant district water department officer, Ms Raphealine Katusabe, advised the community members against using the water until the necessary tests are done now that greater Kirembe area is a gazatted a mineral hub. Ms Katusabe speaking……
Earlier, Mr. Bitakuma had also revealed that similar water had lodged into some of the local residential houses that scared many local residents in the area. Mr. Bitakuma speaking……..
He suggests the matter is not perceived a Kirembe ward but a district threat. END
