Kikorongo Women Community has donated two Sewing Machines and Five dozens of Bitenge to learners of St. Francis Vocational Secondary School in Kahokya sub-county in Kasese district.
Ms. Jane Ithungu, the Organization Chairperson handed the donation today to the school head teacher Mr. Tadeo Ngununu in the Presence of staff and some learners.
According to Jane, the sewing machines will help the learners to acquire skills in sewing and making re-usable pads, which will help them during menstrual periods but also translate the skill into business.
Mr. Ngununu, commended Kikorongo Women Community for supplementing the Catholic Church effort through Caritas Kasese that have also donated 15 sewing machines and a welding machine.

Ms. Banji Jane, the Project Officer Kikorongo Women Community, said the donation followed an assessment at the school that indicated increased school dropouts and teenage pregnancies due to lack of sanitary gears. Ms. Banji speaking……
