By Augustine Mumbere,
Residents of Kihalimu and Katadoba cells in Central Division, Kasese Municipality, have raised concerns over the poor road network in their area, which has been severely affected by recent floods.
They are appealing to government to improve local infrastructure to ensure safer and easier movement.
According to Ms. Joy Kahyana, a concerned resident, the culvert connecting Katadoba Cell to Kihalhimu Cell was overwhelmed by floodwaters, making it dangerous and difficult for school-going children to access their learning centers.

Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio shortly after a communal work at the Katadoba-Kihalimu road yesterday, Ms. Kahyana noted that many local businesses had come to a standstill due to limited road access caused by heavy rainfall the previous night.
Mr. Hamada Nyama, the Local Council I Chairperson, attributed flooding to poor farming practices, and the accumulation of unharvested rainwater in the area. Mr. Hamada speaking…..
The Kasese Municipal Mayor, Mr. Chance Kahindo, sympathized with the affected residents and pledged to lobby for an excavator in the next quarter to do maintance on the road. Mr. Chance speaking…
He also encouraged residents to remain resilient and to continue working together to foster community development. END
