The Ministry of Works and Transport has started rehabilitation works of Kigoro Nyisango-Kisondo and Besenia-Kyapa-Nyakabingo community access roads in Kasese district to ease communication at a tune of shillings 1.1 billion.
Mr. Mathew Ochoria who handed over the site to the contractor, Pekasa Enterprises limited on behalf of the Minister of Works and Transport, Gen. Edward Katumba, said that they were going to work on 4.9 kilometers and 4.8 kilometers roads in Rukooki and Nyakabingo sub-counties respectively and asked the locals to cooperate with the contractor and jealously guard the equipment that will work on the road.

Simon Buhaka, the village chairperson for Kigoro is optimistic that the rehabilitation of these two community access roads would boost production and improve the connectivity of the benefiting areas to other destinations.
According to Buhaka, Rukooki sub-county is a food basket and chief producers of non-food items including coffee but was served with poor road network that would enable the farmers to transport their produce to already established markets. Mr. Buhaka speaking…….
