Archbishop Anyolo takes over the Archdiocese following the retirement of His Eminence John Cardinal Njue early this year, Monday, January 4. Since then, Auxiliary Bishop David Kamau Ng’ang’a has been serving as the Apostolic Administrator.
In a statement signed by the Vicar General of Kisumu Archdiocese where Archbishop Anyolo has been serving since November 2018, Fr. Moses Omolo noted that his farewell Mass will be on Thursday, November 18, at Uzima University Grounds, Kisumu, after which “departure of the delegation from the Archdiocese of Kisumu to Nairobi (will be) Friday, November 18.”
In his Thursday, November 4 message addressed to parishes, Religious Institutions, Archdiocese of Kisumu (ADOK) Institutions, and heads of departments, Fr. Omolo who doubles as the pastoral Coordinator has asked the people of God to “take note of immediate consideration” of the events.
In the Facebook page of Nairobi Archdiocese, followers have shared their sentiments welcoming the new Local Ordinary of the Archdiocese saying, “We continue to pray for the Church and our incoming Shepherd.”
