Kasese District Local Government yesterday commissioned and handed over multi-million health projects to the communities in Busongora County North to enhance health care services.
The projects including Buhuhira Health Centre three and an assortment of Medical equipment at Kabatunda and Bwesumbu Health center three were officially commissioned by the Kasese Resident District Commissioner Lt. Joe Walunsimbi.
The Deputy CAO, Mr. Eriab Begumya Ntarwete, told the local community at three different sites that the renovation of the maternity ward at Kabatunda Health Centre three consumed over twenty one million shillings while the equipment consumed over twenty five million shillings, while at Bwesumbu Health Center three the equipment and construction of Buhuhira Health center three was valued at 654 million shillings.
Mr. Muhindi Bukombi Erifaz, the Kasese District Boss explained that government is in the process improving health care services to the local community as stipulated in the NRM manifesto, that would see health centre facilities elevated to three status in mountainous areas, now that a list of them have been submitted to Ministry of Health. Mr. Stephen Bagonza, the acting District Health Officer, revealed government commitment to supporting health care facilities in all areas across the district.
Kasese RDC Lt. Joe Walunsimbi, encouraged the Health workers to provide adequate services to the community as expected by government, cautioning them against the sale of selling drugs to the local population.
