Police Marine and local authorities in Katwe-Kabatooro town council in Kasese district are searching for the remains of twenty seven year old man who was yesterday reportedly killed by a crocodile on Lake Edward.
The officer in charge of police marine, assistant inspector of police, Pascal Ecumu confirmed the information and identified the deceased as Matovu Ramadhan who was allegedly grabbed by a crocodile.
AIP Ecumu told this radio after a rescue and search operation that the deceased was involved in illegal fishing activities by the time of his death.

The Chairperson LC One for Rwejubu lower cell in Katwe Kabatooro town council, Mr. John Kasingo John who strongly condemned the incident said since last year eight people have lost their lives due to crocodiles.

One of the residents Ms. Birungi Mariam who decried about the poor hygiene of cages said the situation has forced residents to fetch water outside cages putting their lives at stake.

Earlier, the Chairperson LC 3 Katwe Kabatooro town council Mr. John Bosco Kananura Omuloodi asked national water and sewerage cooperation to adjust on the cost of one hundred shillings per jerry can as a mitigating measure.
