    Katunguru-Hima highway contractor is to construct a gabion along R.Nyamwamba.

    The Chine Railway three, the Contractor of Katunguru-Hima highway is to construct a gabion at one of the risky spots in Katonzi cell along River Nyamwamba to partly tame the seasonal deadly floods for the safety of the local population in Kasese town.

    Speaking to Kasese guide Radio shortly after a tour along of the River Nyamwamba valley with a team from the Chine railway three, Uganda National Roads Authority, the Municipality leadership and the locals, the Kasese Municipal Member of Parliament Hon. Robert Centenary said that whereas about fifty million shillings was being lobbied as a starter up capital, the contractors are to build a gabion that was to be filled by stones by the locals to have the river keep in her channel for the good of the community. Israel Masereka said that the Municipal leadership had as well engaged the Ministry of works through her Engineer in Chief, Engineer Samson Bagonza and that the bills of quantities had already been handed in for a permanent solution.
