The Ministry of Works and Transport has commissioned the construction works of Katholhu-Kayanja Road in Nyakiyumbu sub-county in Kasese district and subsequently handed the site to the contractor.
The project worth 8.4 billion shillings that will be completed in a period of one year was yesterday handed over to MG Engineers and contractors limited.
Eng. Alex Baguma, a senior engineer at the ministry of works and transport while speaking during the ground breaking ceremony and handover project at Kitaturwa village said the scope of the work would involve opening, widening, tarmacking and constructing drainage channels.
He revealed that they would use low cost sealing tarmac as they have been doing to other community access roads across the country.
Eng. Baguma urged the residents to work closely with the contractor in identifying some parts that could be affected by floods so that special attention is given to such areas.
