Kasese Youth Polytechnic has embarked on an initiative to develop a digital hub innovation to create employment opportunities to the people.
This is one of the key areas that the institution believes it can exploit as a long term solution to address unemployment among young educated people, according to IT technician Mr. Bernard Mbusa.
Lecturing at a one day ICT employer’s forum held at the institute in Rukoki yesterday, Mr Bernard said the innovation promotion will enable market oriented innovation, connecting the best of Businesses, talents and ideas from around the district.
Mr. Bert Cornel, an IT technician with Enabel, said the Digital Hub funded by the Belgium government is aimed to enable students, the community and educationists to go digital.

Mr.Alunyu Odongo Terenci, the deputy Principal Kasese youth Polytechnic, argued the employers forum to sensitize the community about the Digital Hub Innovation, saying Enabel and MTN invested the facility to extend services nearer to the community.
