Kasese Secondary school in Kasese district has today installed solar cook stoves that are smoke free to combat environmental degradation.
The source of energy is clean and allows one to cook meals faster, compared to traditional cooking stoves which use firewood and charcoal, Ms. Lucia Alinda Tibahwinura, the Director solar clean kitchen has said.
Speaking at the official handover of the project to the school administration, Alinda said these stoves use volcanic rocks or stones to produce heat and energy, with an inbuilt Air system that used to help the stones or rock particles to keep burning. Ms. Alinda speaking….
Ms. Regina Masika and Mr. Bagonza David Kajagwa, cooks of the school, described the innovation as relief to fire and smoke that could in future turn into health complication to their lives.
