Civil servants in Kasese district have been asked to seriously monitor and actively participate in the implementation of the various Government programs as a way of poverty eradication among the local population.
The call was made yesterday by the Resident district commissioner for Kasese district Lt. Joe Walusimbi while officiating at the official launch of the presidential initiative on wealth and job creation commonly known as (Emyooga) held at Kinyamaseke play ground in Kinyamaseke town council- Kasese district.
The RDC for Kasese who represented the State minister for finance Hon. Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo observed that community development officers and some other civil servants have always failed to actively participate in the implementation of government programs. Lt Walusimbi speaking……..1
The RDC called upon the people of Kasese to welcome the low interest rate project since its aiming at improving people’s livelihoods through supporting their business oriented. The permanent secretary in the Ministry of finance office, Mr. Henry Mbaguta described Emyooga as part and partial response to Covid-19 where government designed a package which they termed as economic response to covid-19. The initiative is part of the broader NRM principle of social economic transformation in which government has committed itself to convert 68% of the country’s home steads currently in subsistence to market oriented production and in Kasese district every constituency will get six hundred and twenty million.
