As part of the AMECEA regional golden jubilee celebrations for small Christian communities, their leadership in Kasese Cathedral Parish has planted trees at the cathedral church in commemoration of the event.
Speaking to our reporter in an interview shortly after the function that started with Holy Mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Joseph Kirungi, the Cathedral Rector, Fr. Anyasio Mbusa who is also the assistant diocesan Pastoral coordinator, asked leaders to popularize the importance of praying together in a community, adding that the trees planted were in response to Popeās Message for Laudato SI leaders.

Ms Salome Muhindo, the Catechist for St. Joseph Basecamp Roman Catholic Church, described the establishment of the small Christian communities as a double relief into the her pastoral engagements.

Most leaders talked to, said the small communities were a boost in evangelization and guiding the local people about Salvation.

The one year long celebrations shall be summed up in Uganda late this year where the Bishops from all member states are expected to attend. END
