Boda-Boda riders in Kasese Municipality have resolved to increase transport fares, citing the hiked fuel prices.
A Liter of petrol now goes for shillings. 5,520 while diesel 5,460 respectively.
Mr.Ahmed Ali Amin, the Chairperson Boda-Boda Association Kasese district, says it’s no longer cost effective to continue charging passengers the old fares given the high fuel prices.
He says that they resolved to introduce new fares to cover their members from loss following the skyrocketing prices of fuel.
He however asked passengers to harmonize with riders about transport fares before living to different destinations. Mr.Amin Speaking….
According to Amin, they held a meeting yesterday with chairpersons of Boda boda riders from various stages in White house gardens in Kasese town, which resolved to increase fares for town services from the usual.
He added that the increment in boda-boda charges arise from the rise in fuel prices all over the country.
Mr. Jockim Musema, a boda- boda rider at off shell stage asked passengers to cooperate with riders than putting insults on them over increased transport fares.Mr. Musema on fares……
