There is much hope that Kasese Municipality will soon be elevated to a city status.
This was revealed by Mr. Derick Muhwezi Banyweine, the President of Uganda National Urban forum during a one day stakeholders meeting at Kasese Municipal Council hall today shortly after visiting and analyzing urban Development in Kasese Municipality.
Mr. Banyweine tasked technocrats and Political wing to avoid succumbing to all forms of urban vices that may derail them from achieving the city status but stick to their vision of having a well-planned, clean, green and poverty free municipality.

Chance Kahindo, the Municipal Mayor, attributed USMID success to the cordial relationship between Political and technical team, asking Government to provide funds and  road Equipment to enable him work on pre-urban areas, since Kasese Municipality is densely populated.
