Kasese Municipal Council has passed a motion seeking council to approve the revised work plan for works and technical services for the 1st quarter in the financial 2024/5.
Presenting the motion during council this week, Hon. Rabson Mupango, the Kasese municipal secretary for Finance, Planning and Administration, said the revised work plan to about 140 million shillings, followed additional works on the Katarasa road and restoration of some infrastructure damaged as a result of Nyamwamba river floods, as well as the swampy areas near the same road that require a box bridge to connect Katiri and Kyanjuki wards. Earlier, Hon. Patrick Syamutsangira, the Kasese Municipal councilor representing Kyanjuki Ward, called for expedited road and bridge construction works to protect tourists, the local community members and learners whose lives are at risk. Hon. Syamutsangira speaking……..
In his presentations, Hon. Mupango called for more sensitization of the local community members, most of whom look at the protection of public infrastructure as solely the role of the political leadership and not the beneficiaries. END
