The discovery of Kule`s body this afternoon puts the death toll to sixteen, the people killed by mudslides in Kasika village, Kigoro one Parish, Rukoki subcounty in Kasese district.
ASP Nelson Tumushime, the Rwenzori East Regional Police Spokesperson the latest development after the first fifteen bodies had been handed over to their families for a decent burial after a postmortem was done.
ASP Nelson who said the mudslide was forced by heavy rains in the night, added that the different emergence teams were backing security for a possibility of recovering the remaining two people whose search were still in vain after Kule`s body was evacuated. ASP Nelson speaking……..
The Late Kule`s father, Mr. Moses Muhumba could not believe to have lost is family, including his wife, four children, mother and his three nephews.

Gideon Mujungu, the Busongora South Member of Parliament said the MPs from Kasese he left in Kampala had already presented to the floor of the House, the concerns of the people of Kasika that includes among others, safer areas, relief food and building materials among others. Mr. Zakayo Kule Makuta, a primary teacher, area councilor and a survivor of the incident said it all stated as a usual normal rain before he was alerted by alarms by the locals residents after part of his residential house was swept off.

The Kasese district chairperson, Mr. Eriphaz Muhindi who sympathized with the grieved families asks the families near Kasika valley to shift to their neighbors and relatives for safety as his office consults for possible government intervention.
