    Kasese fish farmers counts loses after fish species fails to grow.

    Fish farmers in scheme ward Nyamwamba Division in Kasese district are counting loses after fish species that was given to them failed to grow, Kasese guide radio has learnt.

    Ms Ninsima Faustina one of the fish farmers who had emptied her fishpond told our reporter that she removes the fish after realizing that they are not growing and therefore not desirable for sale.

    Ninsima said although they were given free Fish species by Government, they have now incurred loses now that the fish have completely failed to grow.  Ms Ninsima on fish……

    The local contractor who constructed the Fishponds Mr. Stanley Thembo a resident of Misika cell in Kasese Municipality told our reporter that they are planning to change fish species since the one that was provided has yielded nothing. Mr. Stanley …

    Earlier the Chairperson Kinyayovyo village in Karusandara Sub County where most fish farmers stay Mr. Richard Masereka had regretted the loss but quickly called for investigations under how the suppliers of the fish species could have brought poor breeds that might have caused the loses.

    A fish finger takes about six months to have grown for consumption. END.
