Mr. Ernest Thabugha, the Kasese District Education Officer has advised parents to allow their children to seek both academic and sporting excellence as they pursue their Education.
Thabugha was yesterday addressing 27 children shortly after arrival at the district headquarters where they had gone to represent Kasese district in Kitgum Municipality at the National football and Netball competitions of under 14 and 12.
The district won a gold medal after Joward Kamalha, a primary five Pupil at Munkunyu excelled in 50 and 100 metres countrywide.

Thabugha observed that most parents are now concentrating on Academic excellence at the expense of co-curricular activities, but sports is also an avenue of income to children, if properly utilized.
