Kasese district yesterday(26th.October.2020) launched Mass vaccination against Cholera in Kanyangeya ward in Nyamwamba division Kasese Municipality, with a call on the public to own the program.
Presiding over the launch held at Kanyangeya main in Nyamwamba Division, the director of clinical services under the Ministry of Health, Dr. Charles Olaro said the vaccine is safe but also warned the community against health reluctance.

Dr. Charles said the Oral Cholera Vaccine that is supported by the world health organization and Ministry of health targeting over three hundred fifty thousand children in sixteen sub-counties of Kasese district including Isango, Maliba, and Karusandara and Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council among others is aimed at vaccinating children against killer diseases.
The Kasese district Health Officer, Dr. Yusuf Baseke said inadequate safe water, seasonal movement of people from highland to lower land during the recent devastated floods affected better hygiene practices.
