Kasese district has this time got two female subcounty chairpersons after Ms Hilder Businge Maate and Ruth Biira were declared chairpersons elect for Hima town council and Mpunga subcounty respectively.

Speaking to the press shortly after being declared the Hima town council chairperson elect, Ms Hilder whose father and NRM flag bearer died late last year commended the Hima people and the Kasese RDC for jointly supporting her candidature, pledging to work with all her electorates.

Mr. Johnbosco Kananura of Katwe-Kabatooro, Mr. Peter Sunday Kakule of Nyakiyumbu, Mr. Safari Martin of Kasese Municipal Central division and Mr. Doviko Thembo FDC of Kisinga-Kagando town council and Emmanuel Muhindo Kitsama FDC of Rukoki subcounty are some of the incumbent chairpersons who have retained their seats.
Mr. Emmanuel Masereka NRM of Bwera subcounty, Mr. James Nyawathekwa NRM of Ihandiro subcounty, Mr. Josephat Muhindo of Munkunyu subcounty, Mr. Samson Bagenda FDC of Bwesumbu subcounty, Mr. Saidi Kisuki of Nyamwamba Division in Kasese Municipality and Mr. Eric Mathu Muhasa FDC of Mahango subcounty are some of the incumbent subcounty chairpersons who have been losers in the yesterday elections.
