Kasese district council is to interface with the district security committee headed by Lt. Joe Walunsimbi, the Kasese Resident District Commissioner over a number of concerns the councilors allege are of public interest.
According to our reporter, the meeting would among others discuss the unresolved frictions in the Rutooke based mini-irrigation scheme in Muhokya town council and cattle market leadership wrangles between Isango subcounty and Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council among others.
The resolution by council yesterday followed concerns by Hon. Ronald Ndyakurungi and Hon. Magidu Ntumeli, the district councilors representing Kyalhumba and Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town councils respectively that some actions of the district security committee were otherwise a threat to unity and development in Kasese.

In his remarks, the Rwenzururu Kingdom Prime Minister, Rt. Hon, Joseph Kule Muranga asked council to join hands in rebranding the kingdom some of whose previous leaders acted contrary to the constitutions of the institution and Uganda, resulting into 2016 historical attack on the Obuhikira Royal palace, bloodshed, arrest of the King and his subjects.
