Kasese district council has approved over 96 Billion shillings budget for 2022-2023 financial year, with an increase of 7.4 percent compared to this year ending.
The approved budget saw the Education sector taking the Lion’s share of 36.5 percent followed by administration with 12.7 percent and health 23.5 percent among others.
Reading the budget, the Kasese district Secretary for Finance, planning and administration who also doubles as Vice Chairperson Hon. Jetress Ithungu said the funds are expected to come mainly from Central Government, Donations and Local Revenue collections.
Hon. Jetress said last year’s Budget was affected by Corona Virus and closing of cross Boarder markets among others.
