Mr. Elias Byamungu, the Chief Administrative Officer Kasese district has written to the Executive Director Uganda Bureau of Statistics, Dr. Chris Ndatira Mukiza requesting him to clarify about the actual payments allocated to supervisors and enumerators who participated in the recent district census exercise.
Addressing the press at the district headquarters today, Byamungu said the ED’s response will solve discrepancies and allegations of embezzlement against the district census focal person, Mr. Joseph Isingoma.
According to him, food providers in Kasese district have alleged being charged 24% tax while in the neighboring districts, the charges were reportedly different. Mr. Byamungu one speaking…..

Meanwhile, at least properties worth 84 billion shillings and 55 lives have been lost in Kasese district since 2013 to date as a result of disaster occurrences.
