Hon. Leonary Kasereka, the councilor representing Kisanga A cell to Nyamwamba division in Kasese Municipality has today surrendered himself to Rwenzori East Region Police and recorded statement over allegations of forgery.
It’s alleged that on 17th March 2024, Hon. Kasereka picked a copy of the NRM update register from the party offices to deliver to the Registrar of Kisanga A cell, Mr. Wilson Mbusa but he reportedly tempered with it, with three pages missing.
According to Police, the NRM office called for their intervention after the accused Kasereka who left the NRM office at 11.30 am returned back at 2.00pm after frequent calls by the party NRM registrar, Mr. Amon Thembo, but consequently upon arrival, dumped the register and fled to unknown destination.
SP.Luke Mbusa, the Rwenzori East Region Police liaison officer told the press that Kasereka has been released on bond after recording statement.
