A 20 member disaster response team targeting the safety of the People Living with Disabilities, has been formed in Karambi Sub County in Kasese District.
The establishment of the response team Karambi Group of persons living with disability after a training of the different stake holders, would look into the safety of their members in the whole Bukonzo County West in Kasese
Mr. Godfrey Bwambale, the programs coordinator at Karambi Group of Disabilities is hopeful that the team will timely back up the efforts of Uganda Red cross in ensuring the safety of their members in the whole district, as well. Mr. Godfrey Speaking……
Mr. Gideon Kipura, a volunteer with Uganda Red Cross in Kasese said the move to have the team was to empower the local population including PWDs on how to respond in case of disasters than depending on distant help. Mr. Kipura Speaking…….
