Kamwe-kamwe establishment on Mpoghoyabo road in Kasese Municipality is not constructed on the road as perceived by many but temporarily on a road reserve, the Kasese Municipal Mayor, His Worship Chance Kahindo has clarified.
Speaking to Kasese Guide radio at his office yesterday, His Worship Chance who said the developer, Mr. Johnson Kamwe-kamwe has agreed to the conditions for temporary structures, also said it was a lie that the temporarily structures may affect USMID funding to Kasese Municipality.
He said no authorization had ever been made for Kamwe-kamwe establishments as perceived, save for the temporary structures on the road reserve. Mr. Chance speaking…….
Mr. Pimawo Kasereka, the local council three chairperson for Nyamwamba Division said he had questioned Kamwe-kamwe establishments on a road reserve but Mr. Johnson, the developer made him believe that he had been cleared by Kasese Municipality leadership though he was yet to internalize the conditions in the formal permission. Although Mr. Johnson do not easily comment about the matter, the Kasese Municipal town clerk, Mr. Isaiah Tumwesigye said they are mandated by the law to allow temporary structures which he said will be erased the moment the road construction works begins.
Mr. Isaiah had also said that Mr. Johnson had requested to have a temporary parking space for his customers whose motor vehicles were at the risk of vandalism by suspected thieves. Mr. Isaiah speaking…..
