Mr. Jolly Kahyana, the Forum for Democratic Change flag bearer for the local council three seat for Central Division in Kasese Municipality, has commended the Church for organizing youth conferences targeting learners mainly in their academic holidays.
He was confident that for learners to be guided on several matters of life, the Church and community are able to nurture Christians, community members and leaders with focus in future.
Addressing a youth conference at St. Francis of Assis Pastoral center on Sunday, Mr. Kahyana, a prominent local artist, asked the youth to be selective of the friends they relate with if they were to achieve in future.
Quoting directly from the biblical book of Hosea 4:6, Mr. Kahyana asked the participants not to behave like the people of Israel who were destroyed because they rejected knowledge similar to what the facilitators and the day’s homily told them. Mr. Kahyana speaking….
In his homily earlier, Rev. Fr. Joseph Tumusiime, called for joint efforts aimed at bringing to book old men who abuse young girls who would have been family, community and Church leaders. END
