Kikorongo Community Women in Lake Katwe Sub-county, Kasese District, has today donated over sixty goats and ten piglets to Kahokya Boda-Boda Riders Association and young mothers in Kahokya Sub-county, aimed to transform the livelihoods of the beneficiaries.
The donation was handed over by Ms. Jane Banji, the Coordinator of Kikorongo Community Women, during a function held at St. John’s Kahokya Church of Uganda Parish.




Ms. Banji, expressed optimism that the project will provide beneficiaries with an opportunity to improve their household incomes.
She explained that the initiative is part of a broader effort to restore hope and uplift the livelihoods of young mothers who dropped out of school due to pregnancy or other challenges. Ms. Jane speaking…
According to the Project Coordinator, Ms. Jane Kathungu, piggery farming is considered an ideal business venture because of pigs’ fast growth rates and excellent feed-to-meat conversion ratios. She noted that pigs can breed twice a year, producing between eight to twelve piglets per litter, which enables farmers to generate income within a short period. Goat farming, she added, also provides a reliable source of income for rural households.
Hon. Deya Edson, the Deputy Speaker for Kahokya Sub-county, together with other beneficiaries, commended the organization for complementing government efforts to fight poverty and pledged to monitor the project’s progress. Mr. Deya and beneficiaries speaking…
