Fifteen persons living with albinism in Bukonzo County East, Kasese District, have received 30 local goats two per person as part of an initiative to economically empower them within their communities.

The goats, valued at six million Ugandan shillings, were donated by Kasese District Women with Disabilities (KADIWOD) and officially handed over yesterday at Kyalhumba Playground in Kyalhumba Town Council by the Chairperson Local Council III, Mr. Ivan Bibuwa.


Ms. Dinah Mulhumbira, the Chairperson Board for KADIWOD, said the donation followed a needs assessment carried out in the sub-counties of Kyalhumba, Kyondo, and Kitabu. She urged the beneficiaries to take good care of the goats in order to achieve financial empowerment.
Mr. Ivan Bibuwa, commended the project, describing it as a valuable supplement to government development programs.
