Kabale Muslim Community is under panic after one of their Imams tested positive for the corona-virus.

The Imam was admitted to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital on Sunday when he presented signs and symptoms of the disease.

The Acting Kabale District Health Officer, Mr. Alfred Besigensi confirmed that the samples picked from the 56 year old Imam tested positive for the virus after health workers attending to him suspected that he could be infected as he showed signs and symptoms.

While addressing the district’s Muslim community today during the Idd-ul-Adha prayers held at Kirigime headquarter mosque in Kabale town, the chairman for Kabale Muslim District, Hajji Issa Tidyebwa appealed to the Muslim community members that could have gotten into contact with the victim to go for voluntary testing at Kabale hospital before their health situation worsens.

Meanwhile, Government has asked Muslims to pray for peaceful elections as they celebrate Eid Al-Adhuha today.

In her message to all Muslims, the minister for ICT and National Guidance Judith Nabakooba asked Muslims across the country to pray for a peaceful electoral process before reminding them to celebrate while observing the Covid-19 guidelines. ENDS
