A man in Kibaale district is on the run after chopping off the hands of his wife.
Wilson Behakanirwa, a resident of Kijungu village in Bubango Sub County picked up a misunderstanding with his wife Mukantete Behakanira on Friday over unknown reasons. It is alleged that the suspect picked a panga and chopped off her right hand before he fled to an unknown destination.
Byaruhanga Zimwanguhiza, the area LCI Chairperson says that residents heard the wife screaming for help and rushed to see what had happened, and found her lying unconscious in a pool of blood with her right hand chopped off. She also sustained deep cuts on the left hand and head.

Sylvester Kyomukama, a resident explains that after the incident, they recovered a blood-stained panga and trousers dumped in the compound of the suspect which they later handed over to police as exhibits.
John Gumisiriza, another resident wants police to expedite investigations to ensure that the culprit is apprehended and charged accordingly for justice to prevail.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson says investigations have commenced adding that the hunt for the suspect is on.
He has appealed to members of the public to seek the services of the police in case they have any misunderstandings but not resort to violence. ENDS
