The former Director of Public Prosecutions, Mike Chibita has urged prosecutors to prioritize mental health and strive for personal and professional growth.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 2025 Annual Prosecutors Symposium in Kampala, Chibita acknowledged the weight of responsibility that comes with prosecuting crimes, noting that every unresolved murder case is a burden on their conscience.
Chibita noted that the murder of Kagezi and so many unresolved murders happened at the time when he was the DPP, and that it is one of the challenges they faced at that time.
Three people are undergoing trial before the International Crimes Division of the High Court for the murder of Kagezi, which occurred in Kiwatule. END.
