Mr. Richard Nsengiyunva, the Kasese Deputy Resident District Commissioner in charge of Busongora County has called on religious, cultural and community leaders to integrate messages of hard work, poverty alleviation and literacy promotion into their topics to guide members of the community.
Addressing members of the Kasese Connect Initiative during their conference held at Uhuru 50 Hotel in Kasese municipality on Tuesday, Mr. Richard also called for the promotion of hard work, love and faithfulness among married couples he asked to join the campaign against domestic violence, alcoholism, poor garbage and plastic disposal to save the mother earth. Ms Anet Kobusinge, the team leader for Awake Women and Girls Foundation, called for rain water harvesting, employment of the technically approved farming methods and protection of eco-systems, to tame floods and landslides that have repeatedly threatened lives and property in the Rwenzori sub-region.
