    Isango Sub-County to petition Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council leaders over trespass

    Authorities in Isango Sub-County in Kasese district have threatened to petition Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council leaders over trespass.

    The leaders allege that officials from Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council have continued collecting revenue from Isango Cattle holding ground that is gazatted an independent administrative unit.

    The sub-county Chairperson Mr. Moses Tsutsu told the press in Kasese town this afternoon, that the law enforcement officers were last seen collecting revenue in Isango Cattle holding ground on wedsday.

    In a meeting with the Minister of Local government Hon.Magyezi Raphael at Movic hotel on October 1st, between leaders and business representatives,  Isango sub-County was allowed to prepare a cattle holding business therefore directing the district council to finalize the legalization of the Market as guided by the former CAO, Mr. Asuman Amis Masereka.

    According to a letter copied to different stakeholders that we obtained a copy, Tsutsu asked the leadership of Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council to follow the recommendation of Minister Magyezi to avoid friction or face the law.

    Mr. Selevest Mapoze, the chairperson LC3 Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council, said the first bidder that lost at the district, collaborated with Isango Sub-County leadership to establish a cattle holding ground, allegedly to fail their opponent. Mr. Mapoze on revenue….
