Mr. Jimmy Elebu, the career’s master at St. Theresa Girls’ secondary school-Nsenyi in Kasese district, has called for alternative income generating sources among teachers as means to minimize stress in a profession that requires stable minds to deliver to the learners.
In his address to his fellow staff members during their picnic at Kasese Resort Hotel in Kasese municipality yesterday, Mr. Elebu said relaying on monthly salaries, was making many teachers keep in financial challenges, including multiple loans that leave their lives in a state of fear. The school head teacher, Rev. Sr. Mary Florence Kemijumbi, concurred with Mr. Elebu about the need for alternative income sources by her staff, before asking teachers to consider nurturing leaners physically and spiritually in a bid to have focused and God fearing Ugandans.

She also asked parents and guardians to use the academic break to learn from and guide their children, a move she said ease the teaching process. END
