International Crimes Division court in Kampala has set 15th February 2022 as the day for Pre-trial for ten suspected Rwenzururu Royal Guards who were arrested in Kasese district over Post election Violence in Hima town council in 2016.
The Attorney General of Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu, Hon. Alfred Makasi confirmed the development and identified the ten suspects as, Mr. Maate Jafali from Bundibugyo district, Mr. Alex Bwambale and Alliance Muhambene among others who are reportedly accused of treason and terrorism.
Court heard that while in Hima town council in 2016 shortly after election for late Tom Wabukombi an independent NRM leaning candidate for LC3 seat and Mr. John Musana Katura NRM flag bearer, the accused reportedly participated in post-election Violence that led to loss of life.Hon.Makasi one on Court……
Counsel Makasi said International Crimes Division court decided to start hearing of the case after realizing the ten Rwenzururu Royal guards have never been added on the same charge sheet with that of His Majesty Charles Wesley Membere Iremangoma and others still incacenetated in various government prison.
