As COVID-19 continues to keep schools closed and millions of learners stranded at home, innovators in the education sector are equally developing online solutions aimed at changing the education system.

Ugandan learners can now access the entire Uganda school curriculum from primary to senior six online and get assessed at the end of the lesson or learning cycle, through the updated version of the Yaaka Digital Network, a solution designed by Ultimate Media Consult for both teachers, learners, and schools.

Edward Tumwine, the product manager, notes that learners can access the prepared learning content for any class year, do assignments, attend live classes, tests and end of class exams.

The content on the platform is development in text, videos, audio, graphics, and animation to best aid learning and comprehension.

    Mr. Tumwine on Education;…..

Since the COVID-19 outbreak, the government and several educational partners have been supporting the distribution of content in print packages, TV, and radio lessons to ensure learners keep engaged. According to Alex Kakooza, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education, if the outcome is positive, the exercise will be rolled out to other UPE schools. ENDS .
