Some Journalists are at risk of losing relevancy should they fail to embrace social media as one of the modern channels of disseminating information.
In his opening remarks at the two days social media training for Kasese Guide Radio staff at the Radio headquarters in Kasese town this morning, Rev. Fr. Sunday Augustine Masereka, the Coordinator of the Social Communications Commission for the Diocese of Kasese wonders why some journalists were still locked to the traditional communication means of disseminating information when social media, blogging and website among others were currently dominating communication.
He described the training as a timely recommendation by the communication arm of the Uganda Episcopal Conference during this year’s communication week that tasked all journalists to invest and advance in social media use if they were to ably address the needs of their followers, viewers and listeners.
