Homicide detectives have questioned the wife of the late former Deputy Inspector General of Police, Lt. Gen. Paul Lokech, following a directive by the Police chief, Okoth Ochola, to carry out fresh investigations into his death.
Sources revealed that detectives wanted to know what exactly transpired during Lokech’s last moments so as to corroborate that with the details of what doctors told the forces.
All the four doctors have been questioned by detectives and their statements on Lokech’s death were recorded.
The medics are reported to have been put on the spot by detectives over failure to redress professional shortcomings during Lokech’s treatment.
The same sources also revealed that Police hired a medical expert who reportedly guided detectives as they asked doctors medical-related questions.
Following Lokech’s demise on August 21, last year, MPs and local leaders from Acholi sub-region have since contested the post-mortem results.
The post-mortem examination results showed that Lokech died of a blood clot that stemmed from a fracture he sustained on his right ankle joint after a fall. END
