Ms. Aryema Rehema, the Chairperson Muhokya IDP camp in Muhokya town council in Kasese district, has condemned Parish Development Committees in the town council for allegedly segregating them while disbursing funds to the beneficiaries of the Parish Development Model.
Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio yesterday at Muhokya Camp, Ms. Rehema, said she has received several complaints from the PDM beneficiaries that some Parish Development committees segregate while selecting who benefits from the Program launched in February 2022, aimed at moving 3.5 million households from the subsistence to the money economy.
Rehema, who said that the program is meant to benefit many households which are below the poverty line and not benefiting more than one person from each household, called for affirmative action that would help the people living in Muhokya IDP camp to benefit. Ms. Aryema speaking…
Ms. Robinah Kabugho, concurred with Aryema, saying their effort to benefit on government money has been downplayed by some individuals with selfish motives, putting them in doubt to fully understand government operations. Ms. Robinah speaking…
Robinah called upon all parish Development committees to be transparent, not selective and follow the selection criteria as stated in the program guidelines. END.
