Hundreds of Catholics from Kasese Municipality participated in the annual Good Friday “Way of the Cross, walking from Kyengereza Petrol station in Kyababinga along Kasese-Mbarara High way through various streets in Kasese town while holding a large wooden cross.
This event commemorates the suffering Jesus Christ endured during His walk to the crucifixion about 2,000 years ago.
As is tradition, the faithful marched through the streets, many of them barefoot, holding smaller crosses as a sign of solidarity with Christ’s journey.
The Procession of the way of the cross was led by Rev Fr Joseph Mbusa, the Education secretary Diocese of Kasese assisted by various priests and Rev Sisters.
