Environment activists under their umbrella body, Ideas for Uganda have embarked on a campaign to save and conserve the environment at Royal hill in Kasese Municipality by planting eight hundred indigenous trees.
Under the theme re-afforestation the activist’s yesterday carried out a number of activities including sensitizing the political leaders and public about the dangers of destroying the environment.
Mr. Isaac Sinamakosa, the Monitoring and Evaluation officer, Ideas for Uganda said last year One thousand forests were planted on the royal hill by the organization for environmental conservation.

Presiding over the function, Kasese Municipal Mayor, His worship Chance Kahindo hailed ideas for Uganda for the timely intervention, saying a considerable number of forests in Kasese district have been destroyed and this calls for concerted efforts to change the trend.

He urged his electorates to plant indigenous trees not only to conserve the environment but also getting herbal medicine.
