Married couples in Nyamisule Parish, Mahango Sub-county in Kasese District have appealed to religious and political leaders, to intervene in addressing community challenges such as alcoholism, sexual abuse, and prostitution.
Ms. Janet Mbambu 60 and Ms. Mirieri Kabugho 45, both residents of Buthale Village in Nyamisule Parish, revealed that many husbands and young people in the area have been influenced by alcoholism, leading them to abandon their family responsibilities.

Speaking to Mr. Kato Ronald, the Executive Director of Kasese Youth Link, during a community consultation meeting held yesterday at St. James Parish Church of Uganda in Buthale Village, Ms. Janet and Ms. Mirieri appealed to the government and civil society organizations to sensitize community members about peace, unity, and love in order to foster meaningful development.
