    Hon. Sowedi calls for opening up community access roads

    Hon. Sowedi Kitanywa, the Member of Parliament for Busongora County North in Kasese District has called for community involvement and participation in opening up community access roads.

    Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio last evening shortly after communal work of opening Kinyangeya-Maghoma and Muhambo community access road in Bugoye sub-county, Sowedi said embracing community work is the way to go to ease transport of both passengers and merchandize.

    The locals used hand tools that included hoes, pangas and spades among others to tame the hilly terrain of the area while creating the access road.

    The legislator asked the chairperson Kinyangeya trading centre to encourage developers acquire building plans as Government plans to elevate the area into a town council status.

    Mr. Lazaro Katikayima, the chairperson local council one for Katumba village and his counterpart for Maghoma village, Mr. Syaipuma Lusabo, described the legislator’s involvement as timely, later asking for government support. Mr. Lazaro and Mr. Syaipuma…
